TDC | The Draconic Crux
The advent of mysterious rock dice and pumice boards engraved with unusual runes during the void plague pandemic has been causing a furor in the Rock of Bral since the past week. The dead dragon heist—as most bralians have been calling it once brave burglars had stolen precious jewels and gems of an artifact within a temple dedicated to a dormant dragon god.
Jahmoh Rinem, high priest of the Crimson Jewel’s Council—a temple dedicated to Sardior, has hired local adventuring companies, religious organizations, factions, Bral’s magistrates, and even trustful thives’ guilds to identify the burglars and locate these rock dice and pumice boards as quickly as possible. According to the high priest’s reports, after one day of theft has passed, the stolen jewels turn into rock dice engraved with unusual runes, while the gems turn into pumice resembling boards of dragon body parts, also engraved with unusual runes. In addition, after two days of theft have passed, the jewels and gems teleport to random locations, appearing in closer areas within the theft’s epicenter, then expanding gradually to appear anywhere in the multiverse.
The artifact known as the draconic crux menhir is in fact a relic—a magic item crafted by Sardior himself to protect a holy site and store his knowledge within. Weighing 2500 lb., this ruby menhir resembling a dragon is 45-foot-high and 25-foot-wide and composed of a series of gaps where gem devices resembling dragon body parts can be assembled—gem devices represent an area of knowledge. Each gem device has five gaps where jewels containing Sardior’s knowledge can be assembled. After the theft, the menhir also turned into pumice.
Rumor has it that, when correctly and fully assembled, the menhir awakens as the ruby dragon himself, with his divinity restored. Though that can only be unraveled by adventurers delving deep into EVERLASTING TALES’ chronicle—The Draconic Crux.
